In 2025, the Faculty of Economics and Management of the SUA in Nitra joined the international initiative #ErasmusDays, this time through a thematic workshop entitled "Clean Air for Our Future: European Mission for Healthy Air".
The event, which took place on October 16, 2025, at the faculty building, was part of the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships project called VISIONAIR "Increasing the visibility and knowledge base on air quality with big data and its impact on the population health", No. 2023-1-SK01-KA220-HED-000158470.

The aim of the workshop was to present the current results of the VISIONAIR project to university students and staff, evaluate its benefits, and introduce new outputs and planned activities. The event also made it possible to compare the knowledge gained during the past year with the most recent findings of the project team and created space for exchanging opinions and experiences. In the opening part of the programme, the project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Jakub Berčík delivered a presentation on the main objectives of the project, its environmental and economic context, as well as its benefits for the academic environment and professional practice. The preparation and implementation of the workshop were also supported by Dr. Jana Gálová and Dr. Anna Mravcová, who cooperated on organising the event, coordinating project-related activities, and engaging participants.
An interesting part of the programme was the interactive measurement of participants’ awareness through an introductory questionnaire, which made it possible to observe changes in the perception of air quality issues compared to the previous year. The workshop concluded with a quiz on the Kahoot platform, where students tested their newly gained knowledge in a entertaining way. The most successful participants were rewarded with interesting gifts from the Slovak Academic Association for International Cooperation (SAAIC). This was followed by a short discussion with questions for the participants, which confirmed their interest in the topic and willingness to actively participate. The most engaged participants were again rewarded with small gifts. Positive feedback confirmed that the workshop fulfilled its objectives: connecting education with practice, developing environmental awareness, and encouraging young people to be actively involved in environmental protection.
The VISIONAIR project focuses on involving students in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of air quality data using big data. Its goal is to identify environmental, economic, and social consequences of air pollution, assess its impact on public health, and propose measures for improving air quality through clear and comprehensible models for data presentation.
The main coordinator of the project is the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The project consortium consists of: the Catholic University in Ružomberok (Slovakia), the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Spain), the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague (Czechia), and the University of Zagreb (Croatia). Together, they strive to raise awareness of air pollution and its impact on quality of life in Europe.
The #ErasmusDays initiative highlights the importance of the Erasmus+ programme and other EU-supported projects every year. In 2025, it took place from 13 to 18 October, with the aim of raising visibility of the benefits of international cooperation, mobility, and innovative education, which help develop Europe as a space of knowledge, solidarity, and sustainability.
