Summer School in Warsaw

Faculty of Economics and Management provides students with opportunity to attend summer school each year.
This year was no different. In 2024, Faculty of Economics and Management was a co-organizer of summer school „Historical, social, cultural and psychological aspects of culinary culture in CEEPUS countries“, whose main organizer was the private University of Economics and Human Resources in Warsaw and took place between 1.7.2024 and 12.7.2024.
In July, three students of FEM took part in the summer school it, namely Aneta Ladányiová, Adrián Rajtár and Dávid Takács. The students were accompanied by the vice-dean for internationalization, Ing. Veronika Hrdá, PhD. and Ing. Johana Paluchová, PhD. from the Institute of Marketing, Trade and Social Studies. Except for the Slovak team, participants from Albania, Romania, Hungary and Croatia took part in the summer school as well. On the first day, the students had opportunity to get to know each other within teambuilding activities which supported communication, fun, competitiveness and internationalization. Program presented by the University of Economics and Human Resources was really rich, fruitful, and filled with numerous activities for the students as well as teachers. Out of many I am mentioning for example preparation and tasting of isotonic drinks, the need of probiotics in diet, cosmetology in practice or workshop called diet supplements and vitamins in our diet, as well as preparation of sushi. But the crème de la crème of the summer school was definitely preparation of national meals of individual countries, which was taken on by the students themselves. The representatives of FEM prepared traditional bryndzové halušky (dumplings with sheep cheese) and makové šúľance (potato dumplings with poppy), which were a huge success. During the summer school, all the participants had a full program outside the school as well. They visited historical and financial centre of Warsaw, had sightseeing of museums, libraries and historical buildings in the centre of the city. The last evening of the summer school was dedicated to the final ceremony and gala dinner in the premises of the university in Warsaw.
