General characteristics of the graduate's professional profile

The graduate of the study programme Economics and Business Management, in the doctoral studies, acquires professional orientation and competence to perform professions requiring the application of scientific methods of research and prediction of economics and business management. The graduate masters the scientific methods of research work, interpretation of the achieved results, the anticipated development of integration and globalization tendencies in the field of business economics and management. With an orientation towards economic analysis, corporate economic and management strategies and their implementation, he/she is also able to solve complex problems of management and functioning of business entities. The graduate is proficient in scientific methods of basic and applied research in the field of business economics and management. The graduate is able to define problems, analyse economic and managerial phenomena and processes in an enterprise, generalise the acquired knowledge and contribute to the development of economic theory and managerial practice.

The doctoral student's study programme will also include student mobility at a foreign university or scientific research institution, participation in international and domestic scientific events, publishing in scientific journals and proceedings of scientific events. It is assumed that the graduate has completed a second-level study in the field of study Economics and Business Management or in a related field of study. The theoretical knowledge of the graduate of the study field of Economics and Business Management (3rd degree) will be acquired in economics and management, with emphasis on the area given by the topic of his/her dissertation.


The graduate of the study field of Economics and Business Management will acquire:

-principles and methods of scientific work,
-the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in education and business practice,
-the ability to present scientific research outputs also in a foreign language.

The graduate of the study programme Economics and Business Management in the doctoral studies will acquire the competence to perform professions requiring the application of scientific procedures in economics and business management in organisations and production sectors of the national economy. Graduates of this study programme will find employment as university teachers with a focus on economics and business management, researchers and professionals in scientific and research institutions. They can also work in public and state administration organisations and business entities. The FEM SPU in Nitra study programme enables to profile the graduate of the study in terms of the focus of the study field of Economics and Business Management.
