Chinese-Slovak Summer School opened at FEM

Faculty of Economics and Management under the auspices of the SUA in collaboration with Tianjin University in China organizes the first year of the Summer School (SS) of Chinese Studies & Agribusiness - European Studies & Agribusiness for the students of both universities.

The Summer School will be attended by the students from Tianjin University since 12th until 25th of July. On 13th of July at the opening ceremony they were welcomed by the Rector of the SUA Dr.h.c prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., the Vice-Rector Prof. Zdenka Gálová, the Dean of FEM Prof. Elena Horská, Vice-Dean doc. Ing. Natália Turčeková, and doc. Ing. Zuzana Kapsdorferová, and the Head of Foreign Relations and International Projects Office Mgr. Vladislav Valach.

Within the Agribusiness studies, the interesting scientific and cultural programme has been prepared for the Chinese students. They will obtain the information about the economic, social and market environment in Slovakia and Central Europe. But they will also experience the beauty of our country. In cooperation with our partner universities we also prepared the visit of Prague and Vienna. The Vice-Dean of FEM for International and Public Relations, doc. Ing. Natália Turčeková, informed us that the idea of organizing the Summer School was established in the connection of teaching activities of Chinese language and the creation of Confucius Class at the SUA in Nitra.”Our students who study the Chinese language have the unique opportunity to improve their language skills, to visit China and to get information about the economic, social and marketing environment of the country.

In addition to this, they will have the chance to learn about the Chinese culture, customs, to taste Chinese food and to visit the most famous Chinese touristic attractions. The Summer School in China will take place since 26th of July until 8th of August,” said the Vice-Dean. She also said that the future plan is to extend the programme of the SS for the visit of selected enterprises in Europe as well as in China. “We hope that the first year of the Summer School will be a successful project and it will start a long-term tradition in organizing of events in cooperation with Chinese partner university in Tianjin.
